KVPY Fellowship Award - 2015 Result is Out










The "Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana" (KVPY) is a program started in 1999 by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to encourage students who are studying Basic Sciences to take up research career in Science. The aim of the program is to identify and encourage talented and motivated students to pursue career in research.
This program aims to assist the students to realize their potential and to ensure that the best scientific talent is groomed for research and development in the country. Generous fellowship and contingency grant are provided to the selected KVPY Fellows up to the pre Ph.D. level or 5 years whichever is earlier. In addition, summer camps for the KVPY Fellows are organized in prestigious research and educational institutions in the country.
The Department of Science and Technology, the nodal agency of the Government has entrusted the overall responsibility for organizing and running the KVPY Program to the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and set up a Management Committee and a National Advisory Committee (NAC) for overseeing its implementation. A core committee looks after both the day-to-day and academic aspects of the KVPY Program.

Following is the provisional list of candidates in the order of merit, recommended for the Award of KVPY Fellowship-2015. The merit list is based on the marks obtained by a Candidate: 75 % of the marks in the Aptitude Test + 25 % of the marks in the Interview.

ADMISSION INTO BHMS (BACHELOR OF HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICINE & SURGERY) COURSE-2016

Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH) is a statutory apex body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of AYUSH. It was set up by the Government of India in 1973 under Homoeopathy Central Council Act 1973 (59 of 1973). CCH monitors and controls Homoeopathic Medical Education in India.

Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi introduced BHMS (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery) Degree course in 1983 with 12 (twelve) subjects like Anatomy, Physiology & Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Community Medicine, Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics, Pathology, Homoeopathic Pharmacy, Materia Medica, Organon of Medicine & Philosophy and Repertory with 51/2 years course. Now the same course is regulated by the amended BHMS Regulations 2015 with same course of duration with same subjects.

Presently there are 3 (three) Homoeopathic Medical Colleges in Assam in the Name of Swahid Jadav Nath Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Guwahati, Assam Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Nagaon and Dr. JK Saikia Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Jorhat. All 3 (three) Homoeopathic Medical Colleges in Assam are imparting BHMS Degree course.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR APPEARING ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR
ADMISSION INTO 1ST BHMS COURSE FOR THE SESSION 2015-16

A. Educational qualification: The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (Science 10+2) or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination from a recognized Board/Council/University, in respect of candidates belonging to General category and 40% marks in respect of candidate belonging to SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC category of Assam.
B. Age: Not below 17 years and above 24 years on 31st December of the year in which the admission is sought for. The upper age limit will be relaxed for 3 (three) years in respect of candidate belonging to SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC category.
C. The candidates must be a Permanent Resident of Assam.
D. The candidate must have completed minimum 4 years schooling either at (i) HSLC or equivalent stage or HSLC and HSSLC or (ii) equivalent stages combined from the recognized schools conducting regular classes situated within the State of Assam. Provided that if the candidate has not done 4 years of schooling in the State then their Father or Mother must have completed his/her schooling in the State of Assam for a minimum period of 4 years in the School level inclusive of Primary/ ME/ HSLC. Provided further that nothing contained in the clause shall be applicable to the
sons and daughters of the officers of All India Services allotted to Assam.
E. Reservation of Seats: There shall be reservation of seats for SC, ST(P), ST(H), OBC/MOBC, Martyrs Quota, Char Area, TGL/Ex-TGL, Teacher/Ex-teacher and Exserviceman category from the total available seats as per Govt. Rules.
F. A candidate who desires to be considered under reserved category shall have to furnish certificates of the concerned category from the competent authority.
G. A candidate applying under Physically Handicapped category shall have to produce identity certificate from the State Level Medical Board/ District Level Medical Board as per Govt. Rules.
H. In case of candidate applying under Char Area category, the candidate must produce the certificate from competent authority i.e. from the Char Area Development Authority to be countersigned by the concerned Deputy Commissioner/ Sub-Divisional Officer certifying that area where the candidate generally resides is covered by the Char Area Development Authority of Assam. His parents must be from socially, economically and educationally backward family ordinarily residing in the area and not entitled to any other form of reservation and the name of his/ her parents is enrolled in the voter list of their respective Char Area Village to be countersigned by the Deputy Commissioner/ Sub divisional Officer of the concerned District/ Sub Division.
I. A candidate applying under TGL/ EX-TGL category shall have to produce certificate from the concerned Deputy Commissioner/ Sub-Divisional Officer to be countersigned by the Director of Tea Welfare, Govt. of Assam.
J. In case of candidate applying under Freedom Fighter’s Quota, the candidate must produce the certificate from competent authority i.e. Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister, Assam and a relation certificate of the candidate with the Freedom Fighter from the concerned Deputy Commissioner of the District.
K. A candidate applying under the teacher’s quota must be a son/ daughter of a teacher/ exteacher
of Homoeopathic Medical Colleges of Assam and have to produce relation certificate from the concerned Principal and countersigned by the Director of AYUSH or his authorized official.

COMEDK UGET 2016

COMEDK UGET – 2016 Entrance Examination will be conducted on Sunday the 8th May 2016 for admission to UG Medical, Dental and Engineering Courses in COMEDK member institutions. The test is Computer Based on All India basis and will be held across the Country to facilitate the students to take their exam closer to their homes and to minimize the cost of travel and other logistics.

Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar is an autonomous Institute funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), Government of India. It was established as an outcome of
the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) of the accord on Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). The foundation stone of CIT Kokrajhar was laid down on February 10, 2003 by the Honourable Chief Minister of Assam, Sri Tarun Gogoi in the presence of the then Deputy Prime Minister, Sri L.K. Advani. CIT started its academic and administrative functions from December 06, 2006 in a temporary set up in the premises of Bodoland University. The Institute is run by an autonomous body registered with the Societies Registration Act 1860 and the Institute is still in the extended project period under the Ministry of HRD.

MHT-CET-2016

The Government of Maharashtra has established "ADMISSIONS REGULATING AUTHORITY AND STATE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST CELL" as per the provisions of Maharashtra unaided private professional Educational Institutes (Regulation of Admission & Fees) Act. 2015, (herein after the act).

The Commissioner of State CET Cell, has been designated as Competent Authority for conducting MHT-CET 2016 and selection of candidates for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BPTh, BOTh, BASLP, BP&O, B.Sc.[Nursing]) and B.VSc & AH courses various Health Science courses for the academic year 2016-2017.

As per this act, MHT-CET 2016 is applicable for admission to Government, Municipal Corporation and Private aided, Unaided & Minority Health Science Institution/Colleges. The merit list of MHT-CET-2016 will be utilized for the selection to Veterinary Colleges in Maharashtra. The Registrar, Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Science University (MAFSU), Nagpur, who is the Competent Authority for selection to Veterinary colleges, will notify the details of selection process separately.

  • In compliance with the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) would be conducting the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT)- 2016, for the academic session 2016-17. This entrance test is being conducted for the 15% merit positions in the Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directive of Hon’ble Court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India from time to time.
  • There are also State Governments/Universities/Institutions voluntarily participating in the AIPMT- 2016 for using its merit list for admission in the Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges against seats under their control.
  • The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance test, declaration of result and providing merit list to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India and participating States/Universities/Institutions.
  • The counselling for successful candidates under 15% All India Quota seats is conducted by the DGHS. The Counselling for admission in seats under the control of other participating States/Universities/Institutions shall be conducted as per the notifications issued separately by the authorities concerned.
  • During counselling, the eligibility criteria, self-declaration, various documents, etc. of the eligible candidates are verified as per norms specified by the respective authorities and Medical/Dental Colleges.

The Veterinary Council of India is a statutory body established under act of Parliament viz Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (52 of 1984) and charged with the responsibilities of regulation of Veterinary practice, preparation and maintenance of Indian Veterinary Practitioner's Register, regulation of minimum standards of Veterinary education and matters connected therewith.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 22 read with clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 21 of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984, the Council with the prior approval of the Central Government has framed Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education - Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Regulations, 2008.
